ALIEN

Alternative Movie Poster

In space, no one will hear you scream...

This is an alternate design for a poster for "Alien"; arguably, one of the most influential, awesome, and frankly terrifying movies ever.

When I first watched this movie years and years ago, it seared itself onto my brain and made me seriously reconsider my dream of being an astronaut. Which is lucky, because had I pursued my dream, you wouldn't be able to see this one, and I'd probably be the worst astronaut ever. I get dizzy in a carousel. True story.

This was the first Alternative Movie Poster I ever made. I wanted to create something that was at the same time simple in composition, and that had layers of meaning and detail that would allow the viewer to really get in there and be rewarded for the effort. I have always loved the design of the Facehugger, and hiding the Xeno in its shadow only made sense. It plays with the mystery that surrounds it during the movie, and all the time it takes for us to be able to see it for the first time. Also, I think it just makes a cool image, and after all, what else could I ask for?

Made in Procreate, this one was available as a limited edition giclée. Long sold out, I’m afraid. But here are a couple detail shots and pics of the thing in the real world: ;)
